Pet Partners of the Oregon Coast (PPOC)  is the Oregon Coast Community Partner Affiliate program of the national therapy organization

Pet Partners.  This means that all of our volunteer handlers and animals have been trained, tested and insured by Pet Partners.

• Remember, we are not just dogs!  We evaluate and register dogs, cats, rats and guinea pigs, equines (horses, mini horses, ponies, donkeys and mini donkeys), rabbits, alpacas and Llamas, pigs and birds.

• And we welcome Volunteers without your own pet.

MEMBERSHIP

Anyone can become a member of PPOC.  You don't have to have an animal and you don't have to be a Pet Partner.  We offer four categories of membership.  Each is renewable annually. 

• Individual:  $25 Adult with or without an animal partner

• Family/Household:  $35 Two or more individuals living in the same household.

• Youth/Student:  $10 Children aged 10-18 years not included in a family membership.

• Scholarship:  Individual financially unable to meet regular membership requirement (staff approval required).

BENEFITS OFFERED TO MEMBERS

PPOC membership will help ensure your success as a Pet Partner in several ways:

1. Getting help with locating a facility appropriate to the skills and standards required by PPOC.

2. Knowing that the facilities you work in are safe and meet the standards required by PPOC.

3. Receiving continuing education for all members, including topics relating to animal behavior and training, bedside visiting, wheelchair approaches, applicable terminology, specific population training, etc.

4. Being able to participate in PPOC-sponsored events.

5. Meeting others who share your love of animals and interest in helping others
